Just saw this news article on WATE

http://www.wate.com/global/story.asp?s=9438084

I love dogs so I am having a hard time with this.  It grieves me that someone would treat an innocent animal like this.
I only wish that the law would treat people who mistreat and kill animals the same way as people who mistreat and kill people.
We have domesticated these animals and they are now dependant on us.  If we left them in the wild they would probably perish.

I think it might also grieve God that someone would treat one of His creations in such a manner.

May God have pity on his soul.

p.s.  Would the Golden Rule "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You" apply here?

Should this guy be beaten, ribs broken, cause to suffer heat exhaustion, bruise his liver enough to bleed to death?

If you were a genie and a person asked you this wish, "I wish you would not grant me this wish" what would you do?

Coach, I can't agree with you more. What I just can't grasp is all the dog owners that never let their dogs out of their kennels. I pass this dog every day going and coming from work and there he is, sitting or laying in his 10X10 cage, waiting for his master to even acknowledge him. I know they feed him, I have seen that. Why have a pet? I just don't get it.
To me, that is the cruelest thing to do to a dog...... isolate them and neglect them. They are pack animals and they need interaction, whether it is another pet or  a human, they need that interaction.

I agree with both of you, but I aint as nice as you all are, I think the SOB should be hung up by his nuts so his neighbors can see him suffer. My sister just brought me a dog that someone kicked his eye out,I took him to the vet and got him fixed up but he lost his eye,he's going to be O.K. But look how many that know one helps, I got neighbors with horses that live in mud know grass at all and they are living on a cooking kettle of hay a day, I report them but know has come out to check on them.
if you know some one i can call please let me know.

Has anything ever been done about this? Last I heard Knox County Animal Control were supposed to have been investigating for animal cruelty? I know it's been like 3 or 4 months so they should have finished by now, right? Did they finish their investigating or what?

I've been trying to follow this story as much as I can but it is still amazing that these people haven't been closed down.

If the BBB can't do any thing then what about the ASPCA? or better yet why don't people just quit going there.

Maybe I'm to old fashion but working in retail I know that with out my customers I don't get paid! So yes it's in my best intrest to take care of my customers.

But when you have an establishment which seems to be following the adage of  "Shop at your own risk!" then these folks need to be removed from the retail world and if they don't understand that for most people pets are not pets but members of the family then they have no business being open.

The article said the dog tried to attack them, OK, but once the animal is under control you call the owners and have them pick up the animal or if need be, you call the vet and charge that to the owners.

This all comes down to animal welfare, when we as people visit a doctor we expect and deserve the best treatment we can get, animals deserve the same. Be it the vets, groomers or shelters when on vacation.

It still blows my mind that with all of this press and complaints that these people are still open.
