OKAY, WHO STOPPED THE PAYMENT ON MY REALITY CHECK?

« on: April 09, 2006, 11:26:46 AM »

NBC News baited the hook, but netted nothing in its "sting" attempt to find anti-Muslim sentiments during the Martinsville race weekend.
The inference is that NASCAR fans are bigots, and NBC News was hoping to bait fans into making insensitive remarks to the Muslim / Arab people it had planted at the track.
If there is an upside, it shows that the image so many people have of NASCAR fans is a false one.
Take a bow, NASCAR Nation

Yes, it was a low spot in journalism, as if they could go any lower. If any bias was pointed out, it is that the elite (media) think that the south and the sport that originated here is ignorant. Nothing from the south is supposed to be model setting. NASCAR and NASCAR fans should be proud of the fact that it is apparently in our nature to be hospitable and just all get together and have a good time.
I wonder if the news were to have tried the same stunt in California, would the results have been the same? I think not. Different fans, differant mindset.

When government no longer respects or fears the governed, the governed become subjects. This is not what our republic was set up to be. Vote against all who are sitting in power to send a message of change. Term limits only work if we vote.

I've only been to one race in my life and that was at Bristol,TN. but it seems to me that the Fans were from all walks of life and just as intelligent as any other fan of any other sport.
I enjoyed the Race I went to,and I would go to more if I could, money and distance make it impossable, and as for southern people,I've always been more confortable around them,I'm from the south and I guess Southern is all I'll ever be.Southern people have what the rest of the country wish they had.Common Sense!
