Health Insurance...add on
I wanted to explain my children live with their dad eventhough we have joint custody for two reasons....I was working midnights as single mom kids live with dad so they can get up and get to school. I finally started working days and had this autoimmune disease which anyone whos sick knows how your body feels drained. I'm fatigue and naseau all the time yet I still manage to push through the days. This disease and the medication just puts a toll on my body. My exhusband and I spend alot of time with are children are children live with him just incase I have a episode where I have to go to the emergency room. This disease has no cure but since I'm living alone and my kids are with their dad TNcare says they cant help me. They dont cover autoimmune disease under their code. To qualify here was their options they told me... I have to have my kids live with me fulltime; or be pregnant; or have cancer or celepalsy.
Healthcare
Why is it we are hard workers and cant get help but you have the lower no income class who live in the projects who never worked a day in their life (who dont want to work) and they get all the help. Unfair treatment I say! Goverment should pay health care for those who really need it like people sick and middle-class income or low income who are willing to work a job or getting unemployment people who really need the help!
I have autoimmune disease but my recent job didnt offer insurance so now I'm without a job getting unemployment but no insurance still since I'm over 21 and single TNcare wont help me. I cant afford insurance but I also have a disease that I have to live with and need medicine but have no insurance and I can barely make my rent. I tried to live with my exhusband and our children (we are best friends and are not going to get remarried- just friends) yet I explained to TNcare my situtation lost my appartment and job was waiting on unemployment approval during that time couldnt afford to pay my rent and was sick so exhusband let me move in with him. TNcare sees it as we have children together so children are there reason they cant give me TNcare coverage but they dont realize he cant put me on his insurance and we are not going to remarry so I dont have any other resouces for health insurance. Yes my town has a clinic that can help me with simple things but that doesnt cover my trips to my specialist.
NO!!
The question of government forced health care should be asked this way - Should those citizens with jobs be forced to use their earnings to pay for the health care of those who don't have it? NO! Medicare and Medicaid already takes away money from wage earners to pay for healthcare of many millions of people now. The government only wants to cease more control over peoples' lives and further destroy their freedoms by imposing such a national healthcare system in this country. Socialism is now rampant in this country, and if we don't put a stop to its progress we'll soon be just another communist country trying to survive like the others are.
My experiences with the current fradulent health care system
First, my family (especially 2 of 4 grown children) have no health insurance, being laid off from good jobs. The only contact with doctors they have is for real emergencies going to the ER for care...which is what over75% of the uninsured have to do. Then, all you who complain about the poor bilking the system...you will pay for this lack of coverage!
Another daughter is required to take a drug that is used to counteract chemo in cancer patients. This cost, over $240 for 20 tiny pills is covered by her employer's health coverage. BUT, what if she had no coverage?? Cancer patients face this dilema every day...
Next I would point out the victims of the TVA disaster in Roane County. The sick people over there are never mentioned in any coverage of what TVA is NOT doing to help them get well...and most doctors refuse to agree that they are sickened due to breathing toxic air...why? Because they do NOT want to be sued for telling the truth.
We must have a public health care option. And by the way, Medicare and Medicaid have been run very well. It is the fraud that is causing these programs to fail...by doctors, drug companies and insurance companies over billing, double billing, etc...That statement from the President was totally taken out of context.
So this is why I answered YES!
Choices
Living in liberty is about choices.
I choose not to have health insurance. It's an expense I'd rather not incur.
When I need to see a doctor I go to one; I tell him I don't have health insurance and I ask for a discount. By selling me his services at a discount he actually nets more money than he would billing an insurance company. It's a win-win.
I am 53 years old, married and a small business owner. I couldn't qualify for welfare (Medicaid, TNCare) nor would I try. We made the choice to not breed. I respect your choice to have babies, but am appalled that you imagine I have any obligation to pay for their expenses. It's sad that they were laid off, but I made sacrifices to learn a skill and we went without to invest in my business. Maybe things would have been different in your lives had you chosen another path in life, but you and your offspring chose the path you took and now you must live with your decisions.
I went to the ER once. It cost $700+ to ride the ambulance, another $700+ for the ER and yet another $700+ for the doctoring I got there. Twenty-one hundred dollars ain't my idea of a freebie!
Those poor ignorant people who go to a hospital instead of a regular doctor or walk-in clinic aren't costing taxpayers zip! They're costing the hospitals, and the hospitals and the big corporations that own them are the main thrust behind this new push for Socialized Medicine.
The solution to their dilemma is a lot simpler than the total destruction of our healthcare system, but the PR for hospital corporations would be very bad if they suggested this: Get government out of the mix. Government requires by law that hospitals treat the poor. Remove that totalitarian law and return liberty to the land and this problem will evaporate.
Remove the rest of the welfare that government so poorly manages and allow the people to keep their earnings and the poor will be taken care of as they have been for centuries: by caring humans who have enough disposable income to volunteer their time and money for just causes.

I am 74 y.o. an am shocked to see what is happening in our country since our last election. I know of NO country that has a successful Single Pay Public Option Health System. NOT Canada, England, Germany, France or ANY OTHERS. I have traveled the world for 35 years. It always results in not enough Doctors, rationing of health procedures. drugs, and surgical operations, extremely high taxes and heavy government involvement which becomes very political, etc.
Our government hasn't successfully run anything from Katrina Recovery to the Post Office to responsible spending of public money, banks or even itself, NOTHING, and now the politicians what to run our health care too? It's all about money and power.
All of the governments current goals reflect the inexperience in governing, lack of understanding how wealth is CREATED, denial of constitutional protections such as private property (GM and Chrysler bond and stockholders), and very much in the style and orientation of a community organizer.
I have never wanted anything from government except to stay out of my way and freedom to raise my family and follow my ambitions legally to as far as it will take me. What I earned was for my family and me. Yes, I paid taxes but only as much as required and NO I didn't mind sharing what we had accumulated AFTER taking care of my family's needs. We successfully raised 4 children, who are now all married and successful
I'm neither a Democrat or Republican, but am a very responsible, financially conservative. What I see going on in our Government today is nothing more than PUNISHING THE SUCCESSFUL and REWARDING to POOR AND UNSUCCESSFUL.
I concur with your take on what's happening with our government
You are absolutely right about how the government is out to wrest as much control over our freedoms as the citizenry will allow.
Govenment heallth care
Government motors
Government banks
Government health care
Whats next???????? Government Religion!
Socialism is alive and well deep within the Big "O".
Stay out of our lives government!
I think that the government
I think that the government can provide health care to people who can really not afford it...but not to people who put themselves living beyond their means in the first place. I think that people who want it should have to submit their bills - electricity, water, gas, automobile, cell phone(s), home phone, insurance, rent/mortgage, student loan payments, etc. and pay stubs for each eligible person - just like food stamps to see if they qualify for it.
I know a mother that made 1,000.00 every 2 weeks and she had the nerve to tell me she couldn't afford health insurance on her child. But she could afford all the clothes, the 50 ringbacks each month, the 500.00 car payment, and several cell phones for her "friends" though.- People like that should not have access to free health care. I don't work, have two kids and live off my husbands little salary and I still can't get health insurance or food stamps from the state beacuse he makes too much. We have less than 100.00 per week for grocery.
fed government inc.
the federal government is a corporation. obama its ceo, a few rich stock holders tell the ceo and board of directors{congress}what to do. that fat corporation should provide health care for its workers[us].the federal government isnt even part of we the people.
