THE SECOND AMENDMENT
It amazes me that four Supreme Court Justices can not read. The Second Amendment makes clear that citizens have the right to keep and bear arms. Is this too hard to understand? Why do Liberals believe they can suddenly over rule the U.S. Constitution, just because they don't like this provision or that. Their folly is the path to hell for this country. Our freedoms contained in the Bill of Rights are etched in stone by the blood of those who fought to obtain and preserve them.
For those who have spent 12 years sitting in a government school learning nothing, let me remind you of a fellow named Adolph Hitler. He knew that all guns had to be registered with the police in France. So when his forces invaded France they went to the French Police, said turn over the data on guns owned by individuals. The French Police complied, the German SS went to each house and picked up all the citizen owned guns. Thereafter all France was disarmed and helpless. The Allies had to resupply weapons and explosives to the French Underground so that they could raise havoc with the invaders and help our downed airmen escape back to the UK.
You may want to remember history -- it could save your life, your home and your family!
Constitution
Not only in their homes, but pretty much anywhere they wish. I don't carry one, but that, along with if I did, should be my right as an American citizen.
Time after time it has proven that should people be allowed to carry guns, crime goes down. I also do not believe in permits or registration. This is the first steps used in the taken over by ruthless rulers in the past, Hitler being but only 1 example.
Right to bare Arms.
The right to bare arms should be upheld. in the constitution. thanks for allowing me to make a comment
Handgun Ban
The time is comming when our rights will be taken away.
I own 4 AR-15s one of the greatest guns ever made.
i`m sure one day i will be told to give them up.
Using Both Hands
Gun control means using both hands. I claim a victory for every law abiding citizen in the US whether you own a gun or not.
If you choose not to own a gun that's fine. Please don't keep me from that right. If you choose to speed and you get a ticket, does it effect me, not really. If I choose to purchase a gun, it won't effect you.
Please know that the second amendment is your first right. If you take that away, all of your "other" rights will go away as well.
Keep 'em on the target!!!
Gun Ban Ruling
The Supreme Court was correct in their decision. I challenage anyone who believes it was wrong to watch the crime rate in D.C. over the next few years. Washington D.C. has had the highest murder rate in the country many times and has had the strictest gun control laws in the country. All will see the crime rate drop then what will gun control liberals say?
Signed,
Dennis Fraze
Handgun
If someone hits someone with a car we don't ban cars the person driving the car is held responsible. A criminal will always have a gun if he wants one he doesn't care to break the law. Only law abiding citizens are harmed by gun control laws.
handgun ban lifted in D C
Its about time someone with some backbone stood up for our GOD given rights against these communists...
Every person has the right
Every person has the right to self defense. With all the anti-gun laws they pass, they only penalize the law abiding citizen because they neve go and take guns away from gangs, criminals, just the law abiding citizen.
Court Ruling On 2nd Ammendment
I think the majority of the court was naive in their belief that homeowner guns would be used to defend themselves, their families and their property. I think the proliferation of handgun ownership is not good.
gun laws
The supreme court ruling was right for a change. Now citizens need work on right to carry in D.C. .Also gun control people talk about gun shows not having background checks that is a load of bull.Any dealer who sells a gun has to run a background check.Only private citizens can sell to each other.Being at gun show is not a requirement.I should be able to leave my guns to my kids without big brother nose in it.
i like the ruling this is
i like the ruling this is great
Gun free zones
How many murdered students and faculty would be alive today if properly licenced students and faculty were permitted to carry their guns on school grounds? Gun free zones are victim rich zones.
GUN CONTROL
IF ONLY CRIMINALS HAVE GUN ,WHAT IS THE EVERY DAY PERSON GOEING TO DO WHEN SOME ONE BREAKS INTO YOUR HOME ,AND TKAES YOUR LIFE AND YOUR FAMILY IN THERE HANDS,THERE ISN,T ENOUGH POLICE TO GO TO EVERY HOME
THESE DAYS . BURGLAR DONT RESPECT THE LAW ,SO WHY SHOULD THEY HAVE A GUN I DONT.
Hand gun - a wisely assured right for American citizens
Country after country around the World has banned gun ownership only to find the violent crime rate accelerated dramatically. When guns are banned, only criminals have guns. In WWII, both Germany and Japan were very concerned about American citizens having weapons. They calculated the cost in troops realizing gun ownership to be a major factor in taking control of our country. I'm so pleased the Supreme Court ruled this way today.
Handgun Ban Lifted
I definitely agree with lifting the ban. The right to self defense should always be priority one.
Handguns
I'm glad they have finally gotten around to discussing the 2nd Amendment and clarifying what it means.
I believe we should be able to keep guns at the house, in the car, and/or on us. I'm always amazed at the people who think that if the government or a store owner says someone can't take a gun into a store, into a school, or in a park, that the criminals will listen and not bring a gun.
Actually, they will listen. They will be the ones with the guns.
Gun Control
The Supreme Court was wise in their decision on gun control however, more gun control laws need to be repealed. The Constitution states the right of the people to keep and bear arms "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" this means in all aspects. The idea that an 18 year old has to pay taxes and can be drafted to war but cannot legally purchase a handgun to defend themselves is in direct violation of the constitution. Thomas Jefferson stated that "the strongest reason... to retain the right to keep and bear arms is to protect... against tyranny in government". Benjamin Franklin stated "those who would give up essential liberty for temporary security deserve neither liberty or security". Americans would be better of if they lived by the example of these great men.
IF
If guns are criminalized, only criminals will have guns.
IF
While your statement is a fact, You drastically misrepresent who the criminals will be.
My Great Uncle is a Medal of Honor recipient. He keeps his military pistol which saved him and his platoon when they ran out of ammunition for their rifles and machine guns during an extended gun fight. Over 24 men owe their lives to him. After WWII, he started a small restraunt chain. In his later years, he started several scholarship award programs which he completely financed himself. He is now retired, but still runs a private shelter for the homeless and still funds the scholarship programs. This great hero and pillar of the community would be one of your criminals if your statement was made law through-out this country.
Surely, you do not expect him to turn in his pistol? FYI, he keeps it fully loaded and in working order at all times by his side. He also keeps all permits and registrations up to date on all his weapons. When I talk about this topic to him, he always says that the government can have his pistol when they can pry it from his cold dead hands. I, for one, would not want to be the one to put that last statement to the test.
Congress Ruling
I agree with congress on this issue because it is clearly stated within the US Constitution that any US citizen is, by law, allowed to carry a firearm along with a permit for said firearm. However, firearms should not be allowed everywhere such as parks, theaters, schools, or on one's person, but in one's home and car, for self-defense purposes.
Joshua, here is the exact
Joshua, here is the exact wording of the 2nd amendment ""A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."" could you point out the part about a PERMIT being required? Thanks.
Handguns.....IMAGINE IF......
IMAGINE.......if our forefathers had no guns when the British came? What about terrorists? If Americans didn't have protection, a day could come when outsiders could come freely into our homes and take over without a fight. While safety measures should always be in place, guns are a necessary right for everyone who values their freedom!
Handgun ban lifted in D.C.
Individuals should be able to keep a gun inside their homes for safety purposes. That is a personal right that the government should not be able to take away from us. Protecting one's family is a personal choice, not a choice our government should be able to make...
